Description

The most unique thing he die, however, was replace the traditional bourbon flavouring grain of fry with red winter wheat, which produced a much gentler taste.

Using pure, iron-free limestone spring water exclusively, their source is a 10-acre limestone spring-fed lake at the Makers Mark Whisky distillery. Rather than the traditional Rye, we use yellow corn and red winter wheat from specially selected small-farm cooperatives, all of which are located within the limestone geology near the distillery. We start each new batch fermentation by using a little of the last, resulting in a more consistent product. We're pretty easygoing about things, but when it comes to our recipe, that's one thing you'll see us get passionate about. Maker's Mark is believed to be the only bourbon distillery to use pure, iron-free limestone spring water exclusively and not city, well or river water. There are lovely notes of spiced honey and mixed peels, a little malmsey, hazelnut and a touch of cut fruit with toasty oak providing a backbone. Never bitter or sharp, Maker’s Mark is made with sort red winter wheat, instead of the traditional rye, for a one-of-a-kind, full flavoured bourbon that’s easy to drink. Ingredients: 50ml Maker’s Mark ® 10ml Maple syrup (or to taste) 2 dashes Angostura Bitters Cinnamon stick for garnish Method: Stir all ingredients with ice. The journey of Maker’s Mark began in Kentucky, USA in 1953 and what followed next was a revolution in the drinks industry. This one changed the way we think of bourbon, all because one man changed the way he thought about making it.I received this as part of a review promotion but this has not coloured my views and all thoughts are my own. To make, mix 1 teaspoon of brown sugar with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters and a splash of water, stirring until the sugar dissolves. While some distillers think this method is too slow and produces a lower yield, it's just fine for us. Love this borbourn it's such a lovely taste, it took me 2 week to drink it cos I just loved to savour the taste.
